When elderly widow Daisy Werthan crashes her car one day in 1948, her son hires her a chauffeur, an African-American named Hoke Colburn. Daisy and Hoke's relationship gets off to a rocky start, but as times change across a 25 year backdrop of prejudice, inequality and civil unrest, a profound and life-altering friendship blossoms in this acclaimed comedy drama.

From its landmark off-Broadway production in 1987 to the remarkable success of the 1989 film version, which was the winner of four Academy Awards including Best Picture, Driving Miss Daisy has touched the hearts of millions worldwide.

From her multi award-wining performance in I, Claudius to the epic film Dune, from a Tony nominated performance of Marlene on Broadway to Cabaret in the West End, Dame Sian Phillips has enjoyed a dazzling career which spans more than seven decades.

RSC actor and legendary children's show presenter, Derek Griffiths' numerous West End credits include the original production of Beauty and the Beast in which he originated the role of Lumiere and the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Martin Shaw leads the cast in the timely UK premiere of Gore Vidal's award winning play about the race to the White House.

Two opposing presidential party candidates are neck and neck in an unscrupulous battle for the nomination. The only thing that separates the ex-Secretary of State and his populist opponent is an endorsement from a respected ex-President. But where does compromise end and corruption begin? And who in the end will be proven to be "the best man"?

One of the UK's best loved and most respected actors, Martin Shaw rose to stardom in the late seventies in The Professionals, launching a career that has hardly seen him out of the limelight since. He is best known for starring in the multi award winning BBC drama Judge John Deed and more recently Inspector George Gently. On stage, his revelatory performance as Lord Goring in Peter Hall's production of An Ideal Husband earned him an Olivier and a Tony nomination and the coveted New York Drama Critics' Circle Award. Other West End triumphs include the acclaimed Twelve Angry Men, Are You Lonesome Tonight? and A Man For All Seasons. He returns to the stage in a role made famous by Henry Fonda in the award-winning film adaptation of The Best Man.

Matinees on 28th and 30th September at 2.30pm.

Inspired by the 7 smash hit multi-million selling albums of the same name, the West End sell out sensation Dreamboats and Petticoats features some of the greatest hit songs of the rock 'n' roll era.

The dazzling success of the first seven albums in the Dreamboats and Petticoats series sent the message loud and clear. With over 3 and a half million copies sold and several weeks at the number one spot in the compilation charts, the Great British public were saying that they didn't just want to listen to pure nostalgia: they'd love to see it as well.

In 1961 emotions run high as young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win a national song writing competition - and, more importantly, the attention of the gorgeous Sue! But when Bobby discovers that shy Laura is no slouch on the piano, love and rock 'n' roll fame beckons.

Featuring classic tracks from Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury, and many more, including Let's Dance, To Know Him Is To Love Him, Shaking All Over, Bobby's Girl, Little Town Flirt, Only Sixteen, Runaround Sue, Happy Birthday Sweet 16, Let It Be Me, Great Pretender, C'mon Everybody, Let's Twist Again and many more hits from music's golden era.

Dreamboats and Petticoats - the songs will live forever!

Our Newhaven is the town's easy to use website where residents and visitors, young and old, past and present, can share their photos, stories, memories and comments, building up a living history of the town. The Our Newhaven team of volunteer editors will then take these images and stories and create dedicated pages to display them on the Our Newhaven website. People can then view the pages on line and add comments of their own if they wish. From its humble beginnings in September 2007, with just a few pages and a handful of images, the website has since expanded to offer hundreds of pages and thousands of images, many of which are unique to Our Newhaven.

This Autumn, Our Newhaven is celebrating its 10th anniversary by holding a special all-day event in the Cafe at Paradise Park, Avis Road, Newhaven on Saturday 14th October, from 10.00am until 4.00pm. The Our Newhaven team will be displaying a selection of photos and memorabilia, and a unique book detailing the history of the former harbour tug Meeching, together with a large scale model of the tug. They will also be presenting several slide shows about the town on their computer and will have live access to the Our Newhaven website to show visitors what it has to offer.

In addition, the team will be on hand to scan visitors photos and record their memories or stories about them. These will then be added to the website, on the day if time permits, or shortly afterwards.

The Our Newhaven team would love to see as many visitors as possible on the day, so do please come along and help support Newhaven's own historical website. Don't forget to bring any photos for inclusion on the site. In the meantime please visit our website.
