The Young Mayor of Seaford, Maddie Jay, and her Deputy, Amy Gough, will be hosting the second Seaford Young Mayors Awards on the 21st March 2012 thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Keith Baker Charitable Trust.

The Young Mayors scheme was initiated in Seaford in 2008 to encourage young people to become more involved in their local town, to understand the issues the town is facing and to help councillors and others deal with them.

The Seaford Young Mayors Awards are open to anyone born on or after the 21st March 1994 and living in a BN25 postcode. The categories will include young performer, young carer, youth group, young volunteer, bravery and sports. There will also be a category to recognise adults who support youth in Seaford and one outstanding young person will be selected for the Young Mayors Award for 2012. Brighton's popular marathon is back for a third year on Sunday 15 April 2012. With a fairly fast and flat route touring much of the city and taking in glorious coastal views, there's still the chance to secure a guaranteed charity place for 2012 with Sussex Wildlife Trust.

This year Sussex Wildlife Trust's team of 22 runners raised an amazing £10, 000 to help the Trust with its vital conservation work protecting the county's wildlife and beautiful wild places.

Running the Brighton Marathon is a huge challenge but Sussex Wildlife Trust can help. The benefits of running for us include:

Free RONO high-performance running vest, complete with Sussex Wildlife Trust logo, for you to train and run in
Charity hospitality area for you, your family and friends to celebrate and relax in after the race
Sussex Wildlife Trust supporters and volunteers to cheer you along the route
Post-race exclusive guided tour of a Sussex Wildlife Trust nature reserve to see how we put your sponsorship money to work

If you are feeling inspired register now for one of our guaranteed charity places using our Online Registration Form at www.sussexwt.org.uk/cgi-bin/marathon.pl

To apply, we ask runners to pay a registration deposit of £50 and pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship target of £300. The deposit will be returned when the sponsorship target is met.

If you have any questions please contact Mark Anscombe on 01273 497522 or email markanscombe@sussexwt.org.uk
