Peacehaven Cinema presents 'The Greatest Showman'

Time: 7:30pm
Where: Main Hall, Community House BN10 8BB
Town: Peacehaven
Phone: 01273 585 493

Tickets £5 available from the Information Office.

Inspired by the imagination of P. T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.

Peacehaven’s cinema is provided by the mobile cinema company, Cinemobile. It is situated in the Main Hall, at the Town Council Offices.

The majority of films are watched by a large audience and there are occasions when 2 showings have been required in order to keep up with demand. Since the start of the cinema, the need to improve the facilities has been a concern, so the Council, having failed to gain a Lottery grant, fitted racked seating to provide a better view of the film and to provide more comfort for the customer.

The improvements have not stopped there, the public were surveyed and their comments have been listened to and now there will be further improvements to the theatre facilities in the town with a sound/projection room built to house the projector, lighting and sound equipment.

The excellent air conditioning ensures that the audience watch in comfort.

Universally regarded as Sir Arthur Sullivan’s most beautiful score, Iolanthe is a topsy-turvy love story between the most unlikely of couples, fairies and members of the House of Lords.

Sasha Regan’s all male, award-winning company return with their best-received production. Her inimitable inventiveness, combined with Gilbert and Sullivan’s inherent barminess, make for an unmissable night out.

Iolanthe became the fourth consecutive major success for Gilbert and Sullivan. It was the first work to premiere at the Savoy and first new theatre production in the world to be illuminated entirely with electric light.

Building on the phenomenal decade-long success of The Agatha Christie Company, which sold over two million tickets around the UK, comes a new thrilling chapter from 'the king of the detective thriller' Edgar Wallace.

When Inspector Tanner is called in to investigate a ruthless murder at Mark’s Priory, the grand ancestral home of the Lebanon family, he quickly discovers that nothing is quite as it seems. The household is controlled by the family physician, the footmen behave more like guests than servants and the secretary Isla is afraid for her life. As Tanner moves closer to the heart of the mystery he uncovers a shocking and closely guarded secret…

The star cast includes Gray O’Brien, one of TV’s most popular actors, known for his memorable roles in The Loch, Peak Practice, Casualty and as Tony Gordon in Coronation Street; Denis Lill from long-running drama The Royal and Only Fools and Horses; and film star Oliver Phelps, who makes his stage debut having played the character of George Weasley in one of the most successful film franchises of all time, Harry Potter. Joining them is Deborah Grant from Not Going Out and Bergerac; Philip Lowrie, best known for playing Dennis Tanner in Coronation Street; April Pearson, star of award-winning drama Skins; Agatha Christie Company stalwart Ben Nealon from the popular series Soldier Soldier, and Glenn Carter, widely recognised as the definitive Jesus in the hit musical and film of Jesus Christ Superstar.
